Canon RAW Codec Software

Canon RAW Codec 1.4 is a software plug-in that, when installed in Windows Vista/Windows XP SP2*/SP3*, enables the import and display of RAW images (with the extension .CR2) taken with Canon cameras.

*Requires a WIC-compatible application (Windows Live Photo Gallery).

The models that support Canon RAW Codec 1.4 are as follows:

Caution

1. If the Canon RAW Codec and the RAW image processing function (RAW image Task)
of ZoomBrowser EX are used together, the property data (metadata) that has been edited
with Canon RAW Codec may be initialized and return to the settings during shooting.
To prevent this phenomenon, it is necessary to use ZoomBrowser 6.0.1 (RAW Image Task 3.1) or later.
The updater for ZoomBrowser EX can be downloaded separately.

2. There are cases where the RAW file metadata that was edited under an environment in which Canon RAW Codec 1.4
is installed is not available for browsing under an environment in which Canon RAW Codec 1.3 or earlier installed.
When sharing a RAW file, use the same version in every environment.

3. Because there has been a change in the RAW image processing for the EOS DIGITAL products,
there may be some differences in RAW image display and printing results when comparing with those of Canon RAW Codec 1.3.0 or earlier.
